Here's our highly subjective list of some really great shelving units and bookcases for 2017. Color features prominently on the list, along with clean lines, plenty of powder-coated metal, and options that double as room dividers. We've picked our favorites at a variety of price points, so no matter your budget, there's something here for you.

LOW

Starting at $59

This IKEA classic comes in a range of options to fit any size library. Display this minimalist piece as-is, or get inspired by the top 10 ways to hack a Billy bookcase.


This IKEA staple is available in a range of styles, including the bright yellow finish above. Configure the cubbies with available doors, drawers and baskets (our favorite look though is this fabric sling organizer, as well as this brass wire basket).


This sleek, narrow bookcase—it's only 13 1/2 inches wide!—will tuck into even the tiniest of living rooms.
