This is a really fun category that we've been collecting data on for years now. More and more we are seeing people go small and compact in order to open their space up and increase the efficiency of their home. And they don't want it to be uncool, either, so these kitchen solutions are attractive and come in a number of different price points. Enjoy...(and comment away).....
>> Sheer Kitchens - We don't know if these are exactly small, but they are compact. High end and space aged, the Sheer Kitchen is for the ultimate bachelor pad only. The bubble fits the entire kitchen into a space only 148 cm in diameter.
>> Alpes Inox Stainless Steel Kitchens - We love the look of these. Again, these are compact but also freestanding and therefore very flexible. All the components come in very high nickel content stainless steel (whiter, shinyier) and are e x p e n s i v e.
>> Sunwave Stainless Mini-Kitchen - Taking a cue from the smallest place in the world, we note the Actes stainless steel kitchen that squeezes everything into one continuous countertop.
>> Joe Columbo's Mini Kitchen - The wheeled kitchen features a mini fridge, two burners, outlets for appliances, a cutting board, and multiple storage compartments. As Pilar Viladas writes for NYT, it's everything but the kitchen sink...
>> Ikea Free Standing Kitchens: Udden, Varde & Bravad - The free standing nature allow for a lot of flexibility of design and can combine to make a very chic, small kitchen.
>> Dwyer Compact Kitchens - These folks are All American and have been in the business of building small kitchens for 80 years. They specialize in wet bars, hotels and tight spaces with all-in-one designs. They also supply extra small appliances to fit into their kitchens.
>> Acme Kitchenettes - Who do you know that loves the word "kitchenette"? Acme does. For over 68 years, they've been devoted to them and are on a mission to to "revive and renew the concept of compact kitchens." This is also one stop shopping.
