After garden gnomes you need a nice place to sit down and break bread or have a glass of wine as the long summer days fade into a sunset. Whether you have a yard, a patio or a fire escape, I've rounded up some really cute and practical solutions for you that won't take up too much space. This one above is from Frontgate for the traditionalists and Francophiles out there. The whole set is weather proof, and the chairs are made out of naturally bent rattan with woven polystrand seat that won't lose color in the sun. The table has a solid marble top and metal frame. Got other ideas? Check out more choices below.

Here's your evergreen budget buy from IKEA: The Lacko is a solid, all metal design with a little bit of European flair. Dark grey and powder coated, you can buy everything separately or two chairs and a table together for $99.

From Crate & Barrel, this sunburst mosaic table is paired with two powdercoated aluminum and woven chairs. The table has a really nice handmade feeling to it: "Nearly 3,400 tiles are painstakingly cut and laid in the round by a pair of highly skilled artisans, who have spent six months of extensive training before executing this striking composition."

Okay, this is pricey, but it's classic. Herman Miller took the original Eames designs and reengineered them for outdoor use. I love that the table is topped with Carrera marble. The chairs are made with a special Outdoor Weave fabric that takes all the elements and still feels great against the skin: "It's hard to improve on a classic, but Herman Miller reengineered the Eames Tables to stand up to all types of weather, replacing parts that weren't suitable for outdoor use, adding durable powder coatings, and offering a selection of four North American stone tops."

Super affordable, foldable and durable, this DWR adaption of a Paris park chair and table is a great solution. Made in Italy: "Weighing about 10 pounds, this durable, hardwearing Arc En Ciel Folding Table (2011) is produced with great attention to detail. The steel frame is finished with a baked-on polyester powdercoat that stands up to the elements and withstands being folded and unfolded as your flexible seating needs change. The Arc En Ciel folds completely flat for convenient storage, and is suitable for outdoor and contract use."

Another French design, Tolix is durable, stackable and has a wonderful machine-age aesthetic: "It takes 100 manual operations to create a Tolix chair, and 80 years after the company was founded, the Tolix name is recognized worldwide as best-in-class furniture. All Tolix furniture is still made in Autun, the same Burgundy town where the company first began."

I love these chairs and took the pic above in San Francisco years ago. CB2 Still sells the chairs and has replaced the Eddy (above) with a new table called the Watermark: "Handwoven of turquoise recyclable resin, this wicked wicker impersonation with polished aluminum stands up to the outdoors. Smart, stackable sidewalk café presence."

Here's another bargain from Overstock. This Jardin collection is four chairs and a table with styling similar to the Tolix collection above. Chairs are made of eucalyptus wood: "It features a durable 100-percent steel frame construction on chairs and table, solid wood slat seat and table top. The first coating is a base coat galvanized finish, and the second coating is a powder coat finish that has a UV inhibitor to resist color fading caused by the UV rays of the sun."
