This weekend, the usually sunny Los Angeles landscape was blanketed with dark clouds and cold weather (making for a cozy atmosphere indoors). And while sometimes we secretly wish for snow flurries that stick--we know better. The next best thing? A handful of snowflake creations made at home that will inspire a winter wonderland.
Our favorite way to decorate for the holidays is by inviting friends into our home for snacks and drinks. The afternoon is a great way to carve out time for finishing last minute crafts and writing holiday cards. Snowflakes are a crowd favorite to create because everyones design will be completely original (and you don't need a ton of supplies). We love the pairing of homemade snowflakes hung on a dark blue wall (chic) or a powder blue backdrop which feels wintery and festive. You can also make your snowflake designs last year-round by framing them and hanging in a group as affordable art.

This is gorgeous! I'd love to try something similar... Is there a how-to handy? What type of paper and string was used? Did you attach each string to the ceiling separately or fasten to a large piece and mount it as a whole?
