preventing buffetting is not a good enough reason to pay the premium for a dyson (especially when it's so ugly)

I was surprised how hard it was to find table top oscillating fans this year. the ones offered by the two brands I see hardly fan at all! What happened to the silver oscillating fans of years past. Mine recently broke when I dropped it by accident and I can't replace it.

Of course the one I love is $550. Sigh.

Where's the "affordable" option? :)

Good grief. I can't help but think the prices of these fans reflect the unprecedented heat wave along the East coast. Very topical, and very unaffordable. I have an amazing retro oscillating fan that I got last year for $50. This is redonkulous.

We've got a version of the industrial floor fan. It does move the air -- but it sounds like a plane taking off in the living room.

I have a small contemporary metal fan I got at a garage sale for $3. It has a very sparse utilitarian look that I actually like.

My husband got me the Dyson fan after i had our second daughter. It was expensive, but it works really well and looks cool. Not the sort of thing we do often, but it was a splurge and I love it. Even if it is redonkulous.

For prettygirlshop...I found a great metal silver oscillating fan at Walmart for $32...it works great and is really sturdy. It is not on their website, you would have to go to the store. Happy Shopping!

I have the Dyson fan and I love it.

I got the Propello fan a about 3 years ago, for only (!) about 100 dollars. It looks smashing, but it's not terribly powerful, and sits close by in my office. And, it's pretty darn quiet, which is always a plus.

Ever seen the Deco Breeze line of fans? Way more chic than your average fan.
