Here's a new list for you: Best Traditional Bedding Sources. Since traditional is really swinging back into style and there's a real grey area between the two, I thought I'd split them and make two lists. Monday, I gave you Best Modern. Today Best Traditional. Got your own best suggestion? Comment below so we can all see it.

>> Brocade Home - A unique source for bedding in the "anthropologie meets mod" direction, Brocade is only quilts, duvets, pillows and shams.
---

>> John Robshaw - Nothing like it. Hand blocked bedding from Southeast Asia.
---

>> Matouk - I love these guys for traditional. Really high quality US manufacture that has been around for ages, but is very quiet.
---

>> William Sonoma Home - Big and bold trad, with simple designs and lots of monograms.
---

>> 1891 by Sferra - This is a fairly new, more affordable line from this fancy design house, which pumps the color and pattern way up.
---

>> Garnett Hill - More in the traditional country direction, but good standard bedding with a wide array of colors and great sales.
---

>> Rachel Ashwell Shabby Chic - What can we say? It's the classic Shabby Chic look back and stronger than ever!
---
>> Belgian Huis - Trad but Scandinavian, head here for fine imported bed linens.
---

>> The Company Store - We go here for flannel!
---

>> Restoration Hardware - Hotel Style bedding with new bumped up quality Egyptian cotton and Italian manufacture.
---

>> Frette - Really nice, classic Italian style but VERY expensive.

Bella Notte Linens should be on your short list. I have a store in Houston, and we sell this line, as well as other of the lines that you have mentioned. Bella Notte is-hands down- a customer favorite. We cater to a clientele that sleeps with and loves their dogs, (and cats), and for beauty, comfort, softness and practicality, there is NOTHING like Bella Notte. It can go either contemporary or traditional...one thing it will not do, though, is look stiff and forbidding.Over the past 10 years of owning a high-end boutique, I have looked at-and sold-other manufactures' bedding. Bella Notte stands alone, no doubt about it.
I am surprised that Pottery Barn didn't make the list. It has comparable products to Restoration Home at a slightly lower price. That said, I am currently upset with PB because I ordered a duvet cover & shams and PB has no idea where my order is, but won't yet refund my rush shipping. So I take that back. No Pottery Barn on the list.
I second Olivine's comment. I just stumbled upon Bella Notte today and bookmarked the site immediately, everything on the site is lush and decadent. Loved it.
In the interest of full disclosure, I work for this retailer, but was so surprised that Cuddledown didn't make your list of traditional or high end bedding. It's all we do! We specialize in exclusive designs, and we custom make each down comforter and pillow by hand in Portland Maine. What's more luxurious than that? We love some of the retailers on your list as many of them share our passion for luxurious sleep. We call ourselves, Bedding Snobs. =-)
