- Inspiration for my palette:
- I wanted an overall neutral room with pops of color. One of my favorite things to do is sleep, so a dark ceiling is totally (a little toooo) conducive to slumper. It makes it very cocoon like.
- Colors used in my room
- Ben Moore Dove Wing (white) on walls; Ben Moore Smoked Oyster on ceiling
- Tips for using color successfully
- Base everything on the direction of light you get. My window faces the west, so I only get afternoon light. Therefore it has to look good for most of the day with little to no natural light. I painted the wall three times before settling on Dove Wing, because the purple undertones of the Smoked Oyster would change the wall color to look more pink or purple.

Would you mind sharing the source for your curtains? They are a lovely choice in this room. Thank you!
Such a beautifully light room. Nicely done. Also..your puppy is way too cute!
very pretty palatte. saving this for inspiration!
It's very ..... refined. (And I am saying this as a compliment).
I think I would feel very relaxed in that room.
What a great combination of colors, patterns, and textures.
Soft and elegant -- beautiful!
I like the green-ness showing through the window, it adds a splash of additional color in the middle of those great curtains. Also love all the white in this room. What a great carpet, the doggy does seem to like it!
Very nice. But I may have to start a Facebook petition to release that ceiling light from its cage...
I like the room, but have to also comment on "slumper." It's slumber, not slumper.
Great room!
Beautiful! Bookmarking it.
Hi FizzyRain - they are custom curtains and I used Fratelli's Tea Rose velvet :)
ooooops! Thanks for correcting. I didnt even notice :/
Thanks very much!
My favorite palette so far in this competition. The purple undertones, hard to manage, are beautifully coordinated; the coral is catchy without being brash; it's all unexpected without being perverse.
You know how I love this room, B! Fingers crossed!
