Beyonce Giselle Knowles Carter is pregnant with twins. Praise. We know she's incredibly swamped with planning her set for Coachella and generally being perfect. So we figured we'd take a moment and humbly submit a few ideas for color-based baby names a lá first princess of the U.S., Blue Ivy Carter.
First off, girl, congrats. You look radiant and that flower wall is ev-ery-thing. We're so happy for you (and Jay, I guess) and Blue Ivy is going to make a terrific older sister. Allow us to take a little stress out of your life and humbly submit some of our favorite color combos that double as names.
All the Best,
Apartment Therapy Beyhive
P.S. Check On It is an underrated banger.
P.P.S We know this is a reach but....
Serenity Carter & Rose Quartz Carter
We were all a little shocked when Pantone picked two colors as the color of the year in 2016, but now it feels almost prescient. Serenity remains safely in the blue family, while providing twin #1 with a name reflecting the grace of their mother. Rose Quartz is the new gray, the millennial power color and the kind of name that perfectly straddles old-fashioned-cool and new-age crystal healing.
Marsala Carter & Marigold Carter
Inspired by Beyonce's ability to wear literally any color, twins with matchy names and gender neutrality. Marsala & Marigold are deep, bold and vibrant much like these twins will be from the moment they take their first breaths.
Hunter Carter & Chartreuse Carter
Greenery is the 2017 color of the year, and while that name may work for your ex-boyfriend's (legal) pot dispensary, it doesn't have quite the Knowles edge we're looking for. Enter Hunter & Chartreuse, like twins of Greek mythology, here to hit us with some otherworldly elegance and might, while remaining strongly on trend.
Crimson Carter & Cream Carter
We would be remiss not to take inspiration directly from the Khaleesi of Hits herself, to honor two of her most iconic looks in the Formation video, as well as to raise the bar on the alliteration game, we put forth Crimson & Cream.
Cerulean, Azure, Klein, Indigo, Sapphire...
Blue Ivy Carter is literally the best name on planet Earth, so why mess with perfection. Keeping the names in the color family with any of the above can only strengthen the Carter family's aesthetic lineage, and who are we to do anything but help to support that.
