Our friend just turned us on to Beyond Designers.com. ATLA has had a survey up regarding opinions on knock-off furniture. If you fall into the camp that believes that a “farcelona” is just as good as its much pricier sibling Barcelona, this is the site for you.
The site takes its knock-offs seriously. They brag of quality and workmanship, suggesting that in some cases their furniture is even better made thanks to new technologies.
Now some of the deals are not that great. The Nelson Marshmellow couch(above,left) is $2200, so you are saving maybe $400... good but not great. But then there's the Le Corbusier Lc3 Arm Chair (Above, right-$790).
The Eileen Gray side table is $250 (vs. $400 for the real thing. Left) Oh, and that "Farcelona" (right) is just $740.
Not bad, if you don't mind a knock-off.

I was at a similar knock-off store store in NYC last month and was really disappointed in the quality. Lots of visual blemishes (seams - pleating) and structural issues (tilted a swivel chair and the bearings popped out). Be careful.
I just recently purchased a Charles Emes lounge set and an egg chair from BeyondDesigners and I couldnt be happier!! I was very impressed with the quality, the great prices, and the customer service was exceptional. I would definately recommend this company to anyone intereseted in contempory furniture for their home.
