I've yet to try it myself, but people are singing the praises of buckwheat hull pillows. Whether you buy one or make your own, buckwheat hulls are apparently great for neck and head support and air circulation. But it's not just about pillows, as I've learned: if you truly want all the benefits that come from sleeping with buckwheat hulls, you should get a mattress topper.
The buckwheat hull mattress toppers from Etsy seller OpenYourEyesBedding consist of a canvas cover sewn into 32 sections, and each section holds one pound of organic buckwheat hulls. The instructions say to place the topper between your mattress and fitted sheet for "natural, body contouring support."
- Day Bed Size Mattress Topper, $300
- Full Size Mattress Topper, $350
- Queen Size Mattress Topper, $388
- King Size Mattress Topper, $482

No, but I can't believe I ever lived without a buckwheat pillow. My bed already has a built in memory foam pillow top or I'd be jumping all over this!

As a recent client of OYEB, with a TERRIBLE BACK, I have to say that I am so glad I found their products. The mattress requires a little fluffing each night and conforms exactly to my body, giving me just the support I need. Knowing that I've removed another source of toxic chemicals from my home is a bonus!
