New at the Gift Fair this year, Bholu was a breath of fresh air visually and emotionally. This new company, was founded by Australian, Jodie Fried, and carries a lovely, light design sensibility as well as a noble mission: to be a Fair Trade and Climate Neutral Company which designs in Australia but manufactures and supports local community in India...

The designs are Fried's own, but adapted from whimsical sources. As we love our own squiggle logo, we also loved her use of swirling lines across pillows and rugs. The colors are rich and the materials include wool felt & linen with hand embroidery and 100% New Zealand wool yarn for the rugs. Everything is made by hand.

The toys are called Bubalah's and are made from children's drawings, which is a really neat concept. They draw them and Fried makes them come to life:
