If you remember Kenzie's nursery, then you'll also know Kenziepoo. The blog not only chronicle's the family's design journey with a new member in tow, but also the inspirational and beautiful stuff that their best DIY projects are born from. Mom and blogger Rachelle spills her vision and her inspirations below:How long have you been blogging and why did you start?
I started blogging in 2005 about my personal life, family, etc., but it wasn't until 2008 that I started really getting into blogging. In September of 2008, I decided to start a blog all about baby. When I was pregnant, I was always on the internet searching for everything about baby from clothes to decor. I found it difficult to find trendy baby items and decor. That is when I started my blog called Kenziepoo (after my daughter, Kenzie).
Tell us about your blog…
Kenziepoo is all about baby from clothes to nursery, featuring great finds, fabulous baby sites, and you will also find great giveaways from time to time. I also share bits and pieces of my life including photos of me and my family, my daughter's nursery, my home and more.
Where do you go in the blogosphere for inspiration?
I find so much inspiration from a lot of design blogs like Decor8, Simplygrove, Design Sponge, Desire to Inspire, Made by Girl, Making it Lovely, etc. I of course also find inspiration for my blog on many children's blogs including Bloesem kids, Minor Details, Kids Haus, LMNOP blog, and Ohdeedoh.
What current design or family projects are you are working on?
I have so many things I am working on right now...I just recently had pictures taken of my daughter, and am trying to put a fun wall of those photos together in my office. Along with that I am also working on Kenzie's playroom. I just started selling Chalkboard Wall decals in my Etsy shop, so I will be putting a lot of those up in her play room to write on.
How do you approach the decorating process?
First: I usually pick an anchor piece; second: I choose the colors; third: I add all the items that go in that room. Then finally I add in all the accessories at the end. Most of the time I use this process in decorating, but not all of the time. Sometimes, I am so random about decorating and choose the accessories first. I guess it just depends on what kind of mood I'm in (haha). I really enjoy the process of decorating a room, and the final result is my favorite, knowing that all your hard work paid off. I absolutely love to decorate, I love the fact that when you walk in my home it totally expresses who I am.
