For us, the Big Chill Fridge is about as cool as you can get while still maintaining a practical and functional kitchen space.
Interestingly, we had a funny "He said, she said" last night with a couple of friends where we discovered that the ladies tend to like the sleek style of stainless in the kitchen and it was the men that thought retro was the way.
Stereotypes and generalizations aside, to see all of the color options of the Big Chill is like opening a box of Whitman samplers. The fridge is an un-retro price of $2,500 plus extra for the extras, like water dispenser and an icemaker, so this can't be a whim, boys...

It's just that those retro fridges seem a little too kitch. They're pretty and all, but feel gimmicky, and us "Ladies" who actually use the fridge to store food in that we will eventually cook, prefer a fridge that looks substantial. And by the way, they ain't so cheap!!
I really love these fridges! I think they look sexy and 'cool'! They are not cheap, tis true, and it will be some time before we can afford one; but one day this beautiful blue fridge will be in my 'beach style' kitchen!
