Big Day Books

They call it the "anti-scrapbook". Maybe you had all the best intentions- you bought an album- you took pictures. But they're still in your camera or computer, and the pages of your album are pretty much blank. Well, if you'd love to have a beautiful album of all of those special moments with baby, but you just can't seem to find the time, or you're not the "scrapbooking type"- Big Day Books might be for you.

Big Day Books was created by two mothers who combined their experience in graphic design, marketing, and bookmaking. They realized what a challenge it was to find the time to create albums, but they also realized that they were at their computers a lot of the time and there might be an easier way. Here's how it works: you buy a book- there are lots of fresh designs to choose from. Your book comes with 30 printer ready pages, and an 18 month membership to their online Baby Book Creation system. You log in, fill in your pages, and print them. You can choose to either print your photographs right on the paper, or stick them on by hand or with photo corners. There are over 40 different pages you can create like "First Bath" or "About Your Name". There are even pages geared towards adopted babies. There are no programs to install, and you can access and work on your book from any computer. We like the look, and the idea. What we're a bit skeptical of is, would this actually take less time? When we looked at their "faqs" page- we found it a little bit overwhelming. But maybe it's the kind of thing that once you learn it, it becomes very fast. We hope so.
