We cannot resist a sale, and as Overstock.com is doing a big liquidation/cheap shipping combo this weekend, we thought we would check out their nursery rugs. Above, our favorite of the group, a 5'3 x 7'6 Planets Rug, marked down to $129.99. Strong colors, great font, educational without being preachy...this one is a winner! Below, a few more of their nursery rugs, both hits and misses.
First up, the miss. Are we stupid? We cannot figure out how this rug works to teach the wee about addition. The Addition Rug is 8' x 11', and probably just the thing for those who believe in not wasting a minute that could be used for self-improvement. $109.99, therapy costs not included.
A little less aggressive is the Alphabet Rug, a hand-woven 6' x9' for $154.99.

Space themed, but not as bright as the planets rug, the Space Shuttle Rug is a 4'x6' and just $67.99.

Travel Fun Rug is made of nylon, and is 5'3 x 7'6. Bright colors, mildly educational, and the addition of highways make this fun for playing cars on. $109.99.
There you have it. A little educational, a lot of color, warm under the feet, and not a huge financial investment. All good things in a nursery rug. Thanks, Overstock.com! And of course, with the money you save, and their jewelry liquidation sale going on at the same time...well, we will let you finish that thought yourselves.

Ah, Pluto: you'll always be a planet to me, and to this rugmaker...
LOL Nora!
As for the addition rug, you're supposed to pick a number along the top, and one along the side. Find where they meet, and that's the number they add up to. Make sense?
And the rug has subtraction on the bottom. The number on the bottom minus the number on the side and where they meet is the answer.
Oh man - I just ordered a $400 rug for my kid's room, after an exhaustive search. Why didn't I see that planet rug on Overstock?! And Pluto's there, too!
