Big & Tiny's Room for Discovery & Play

My Play Room

Name: Big (2.5) & Tiny (6 months)
Location: Melbourne, Australia

Creativity runs deep within my veins, and I want to share that with my children. Having the luxury of space, I wanted a dedicated room for learning and exploration and fun. I wanted colourful and inviting and inspiring. My mind was buzzing with ideas, but I know the reality of our financial restraints on a single income. Much of what you see is the result of DIY projects and budget friendly solutions. And the result is pretty darn amazing.

My favourite bit? The reading corner. It's simple, yet comfortable and cosy. Sitting beneath the sun and drifting hot air balloons, imagination is invited to come to life. Snuggled close, we are transported to magical places and on exciting adventures as we pore through pages together.

Each and every time I walk into this room, I smile. A smile full of pure contented happiness. Hours of labour and love have been poured into this space, and I could not think of a better way that I could have spent them. Time and energy set aside to give my loves a command centre for their childhood that I always dreamed they would have.
