Maya Pedal is a Guatemalan company that turns a combination of materials including old bikes, concrete, wood and metal into Bicimáquinas, or pedal-powered machines. Pedal powered machines can perform a range of functions, including acting as corn mills, nut-shellers and water pumps which save people time, create new jobs, and free them from dependence on unreliable energy.

Additionally, Maya Pedal provides the plans online for anyone interested in building their own (donations are accepted).
