The BiOrb Life Aquarium is for the pet owner with discriminating taste in decor. Sporting an LED lighting system designed to mimic the actual schedule of real sunlight, an advanced 5-stage filtration system and an option of three colours with a minimal modern form, the BiOrb Life Aquarium is one of the nicest all-in-one aquariums we've seen. A video and more photos below...

At anywhere between $295 -$249 the 8 gallon BiOrb Life Aquarium is not cheap, but the acrylic aquariums are handmade, available in chili red, ice white or piano black, and only require you add the fish and keep them fed. The automatic LED lighting system also adds a bit of ambient lighting to any room too, so one could look at this as both a pet display and a home decor lighting conversation piece.

To me, it looks much better in the pictures then the video. That is a lot to spend on such a small tank (it sure doesn’t look like an 8 gallon tank in the video).
Any company that claims to have a “maintenance free aquarium” is just trying to sell the idea of having the beauty of fish with without the hassle. Just not realistic.
I concur with sciteach. Water changes are VERY important to keep your fish healthy, thriving, and alive. Aquariums are NOT maintenance- free by any means. Pollutants such as ammonia and nitrates build up the longer a tank goes between water changes, and the water's pH steadily lowers. Changing the water and suddenly raising the pH will kill fish almost instantly.
"Maintenance- free" is a lie.
The shape of the tank in the renderings is totally different than in the video. Is is square or rectangular?
I do love the way it looks in the picture though......
I agree, the photos and videos do not match, it looks far better to me in the photos. Also, how do you easily do a water change or clean the gravel/substrate or remove fish if they need to be quarantined or die? The opening looks really small to me. I wish they would have shown the lighting feature in the video.
I also agree that this looks much less than 8 gallons.
I've got the regular bubble 8gallon biorbe & I love it! Such a great design & it makes an excellent nightlight (esp with the light that mimics the sun). 8 gallons sounds like nothing, but on the round one, it's pretty big, so I'd bet this one is pretty good too.
The brand makes it really pretty easy to change the filters, so it's been no trouble at all to clean/change that & vacuum out a bit of water & gunk every month. I'd be curious to see how this one goes, but the price is a bit hefty compared to the one I had before
