We've never been big on birdcages as decoration - it just seems like a large piece of clutter we could do without, and a little bit old lady-ish, to be honest. Yet in this case, we don't care. Bird or no, these are too beautiful not to love.

Made in Vietnam of lacquered wood, each piece is done by hand - and carry little irregularities in the paint as proof. We really like the colors, too (described as "Malibu" and "Blueberry"). Here's our question - besides a bird, would you store anything in your birdhouse or leave it empty, strictly as decoration?
Available at Rose and Radish.

plants can look great in a birdhouse.
we bought a very similar one in red and strung it randomly with tiny white lights.
If the round ones were metal, I would be tempted to dress them in crystal and place a tea light inside for a makeshift chandelier.
Yes, I loved these, I have them on my blog this week!
You can put one on the gift table at your wedding to receive cards from people, they just slip 'em through the bars.
But I do like the idea of putting twinkly lights inside and using as a chandelier, especially outside under a garden canopy.
plants and twinkle lights look amazing. i'm a big big big fan of the birdcage in decor. i think theres a lot to be learned from old ladies.
i mean... my grandma has an entire house of mid century danish modern furniture and rosenthal china... and she got it as originals.. not trying to be hip or anything.
