Clever, no? Never mind that this table isn't available yet, and when it is, the vendor doesn't deliver to the United States. Consider it, instead, as a guideline for a great bedroom DIY project.
We do wonder if the peaked roof would hurt the spines of our books, and if springy paperbacks would stay put. Heal's is where the table can eventually be purchased, for those of you with connections in the UK.

clever - yes. practical - no! I don't even see an alarm clock. I suppose one would have to be a bit cuckhoo to have a nightstand like this.
Very quirky and fun! Pic taken from my all time fav mag "LivingETC"
I love the place to put a book. You could add a shelf and make an "attic" for an alarm clock.
Maybe stacking multiple birdhouses would be more useful--I've got too much bedside stuff for one tiny wren house.
Love Palmetto's birdhouse-stacking idea.
No.
It looks a little bit country, a little bit shabby chic and a lot tippy.
here's a design with a similar concept, but looks like it might work a little better/not ruin your books as much (but it's also not as cute):

I actually think this would work quite well in a larger size. I also like the de Sousa table t-dawg linked to, which isn't in production yet, either. As for book spines... I dunno. My books are well-worn and stained by the time I've finished them, anyway, so no worries there. If I really want a pristine tome, I buy one for display only. Really. You don't want to know how many copies/editions of Ulysses clutter my shelves.
