The pairing of black and white is so crisp and clean, it's no wonder it works well in the bathroom. After all, where else is that clean feeling more essential? See some of our favorites after the jump...
It was this renovation by Anna at Door Sixteen that originally put the idea into our heads, then it seemed like we were seeing black and white bathrooms everywhere, and in all sorts of styles. The pairing really is so classic and versatile, that it works with all sorts of decorating schemes.
We like the use of natural elements (the jute basket and plant) and a neutral paint color to keep the room from feeling too stark with all the graphic black and white elements.
Woah, we'd love to get a house tour from whatever fat cat bathes here. Is that a candelabra? A giant plasma? We like to think this is the tiny studio apartment of someone who just really likes to bathe.

I love black and white bathrooms. Always looks clean and stylish.
Anna's (from Door Sixteen) is a particular favorite of mine.
This bathroom is insanely great.
Referring to the first one! (Though I like them all.)
Classic. Always great. And versatile. Colored linens, curtains, shower curtains and other accessories can completely change the look at a whim (without the commitment factor).
I think this is the direction I'll go in for husband's bathroom. Clean and simple but not feeling like it's been neglected.

This is a stupid question, but Is it safe to put a chandelier above a tub? It must be I've seen it a lot, but I wonder what precautions to take?
that bathroom in first pic is sexy. i want to lay in the tub and drink red wine.
I always love black and white... it just gives a classic look to just about anything.
The bathroom in the second photo is one of my all time favorites.
I think your first precaution would be to duck. Secondly, turn it off before having a water fight.
Honestly, the only real consideration would be height. Bathroom electrical should be on a gfi circuit with a chandelier no exception. Which means that even if you stuck your wet finger into an empty light bulb socket you would have to go flip a breaker but you'd be perfectly safe.
I love a claw foot tub out of context. I've always wanted a tub at the foot of the bed with a couple of big soft towels thrown over the foot board. So romantic.
Would other colours with white work as well to create this crisp look? Would navy, brown or grey and white have similar effect? Black and white seems to trump them all. But why? Just asking, because I am painting my bathroom soon. While black and white appeals most, I'm hesitating.
Love love the second one, just perfect.
The first bathroom is my dream bathroom. I'm soooo jealous!
I have a black and white bathroom for the first time. I have always wanted one but never had the guts to actually do it. I totally love it!
I am a huge fan of black and white in any and every room. So simple but elegant, and easily changed. I particularly love it in bathrooms. Love the first picture!
