No, it's not new. It's not even particularly newsworthy. But I find myself drawn to rooms with this popular black and white offset striped rug. For something so modern and graphic, the rug is surprisingly versatile.

It gives formal antique-filled rooms some punch and brightness. It serves as a neutral backdrop for more modern rooms. How can something with such a busy pattern suit so many styles?

This rug style began with Madeline Weinbrib's version and became popular with the IKEA version (Stockholm Rand rug for $199). And there is also a navy version at Rugs USA!
