A show-stopper in any room, black walls are having a bit of a renaissance these days. Normally we would have said that it takes an extra level of decor-guts to go with so much black in a small room but these might be shifting our perspective...

I think these are bit too masculine for me. Especially the rooms where every single wall is covered in black. I really like LOOKING at them, but I don't think I could live with those walls! Beautiful photos, but I don't think I'll be painting my walls black anytime soon.

All I can think about is soap scum and toothpaste splatters.
These are really beautiful bathrooms, I have just taken the brave step on re doing my bathroom in black marble floors and walls, its not as harsh as the pics here as there is the white veining on the tiles and I have 2 windows.
Although very partial to black, when it comes to bathrooms I prefer lighter colors - I am more motivated to clean when I can actually see the dirt!
They are too corporate for me--but I adore the first one.
hi dust..is that you? HEY nice to see you on my nice shiny black surface. SURE you can hang out... don't mind me, im just cleaning the bathroom for the 10th time today but you just keep popping up.*dripping in sarcasm*
I like a black painted wall but I'm not so big on the black tile - especially with white grout.
I painted my bathroom black when we remodeled last year. I love it and even though my bathroom has no windows - it doesn't feel cramped. And the walls are easy to clean.

I agree with DJS - only the first one speaks to me. #2 in particular looks like a commerical restroom - not very inviting.
Love your remodel mdeathstar, kitty is sweet too!
I like a dark bathroom, just painted mine Hotel Room (RL) - a deep purple, almost black and it really doen't daren the bathroom considering all the mirrors.
mdeathstar- your bathroom looks fun and inviting.
The second thumbnail sent a shiver up my spine. Looks like the grim reaper lives there.
gorgeous.
a word in your ear: condensation leaves visible streaks
perhaps the highest gloss will get you over that hump
expanses of glass, stainless steel and now black bathroom paint: desiderata with downsides alas
I'm mildly obsessed with painting my bathroom black. I think it would go well with the tile http://tinyurl.com/dbta9a
Black would go well with that salmon tile.
mdeathstar's bathroom is quite nice, but not all black, which lightens it. (I would have expected darker, heh heh)
Those 70s bathrooms are so European 1970 /-. Dark greens and blues (and even red oranges) were very popular and even in the late 50s and through the 60s. In Sweden houses were built with white brick and black stained siding, quite hip at the time. I lived in a house with dark wood paneled bathrooms with Avacado fixtures; I gather that they (Europeans at the time) thought that these baths were very American and they were being modern Americans or some such. My parents wanted eurobath fixtures (taps etc) in the 70s and were told "no can do" much to their disappointment.
