We're loving the black trend that's been emerging in home decor lately, as evidence by numerous posts, like here and here. But if you can't paint your walls or want to introduce the trend in moderation, we like the style of these wall ornaments from Eden and Eden...
They are vintage pieces refinished with black lacquer, hence the steep price tag. But it's funny how a coat of matte black can make even the most staid items cool. We'll keep these in mind as inspiration next time we go to Alameda, and get our spray paint ready.
Available at Eden & Eden.

I think I like these but would need to see one in context.
For knick-knack posts like this it really helps to see the item in a room, to get an idea of it's size. This could be the size of a light bulb, a bread box, or an entire wall. Can't tell from reading the post!
This is so weird, but I used to own the original/vintage version of the top oneâthe chrysanthemumâwhich, I must say, was very lovely. Gentle gold stems and leaves with soft white flowers. It broke when I dropped it on accident, and seeing it in this postâpainted black, no lessâbrings me such pain.
they're a little bit larger than i imagined - 18" x 10"
At least they are not decals.
$225 is INSANE for these, they are readily available on ebay (where I got mine a few years ago) for $10-30, plus a can of black spray paint......!!
If you ebay search Syroco or Homco, you'll discover a variety of shapes and sizes - all inexpensive.
Here's an ebay listing for BOTH plaques for $19.99
thanks, redjet! nice find. hommenivore, looks like you can get your white and gold one again.
AHHHHHHHH. Thanks, redjet!
