For awhile now I've been enamored with a very particular orangey-red, a vibrant poppy hue. I've bought tomato-red nail varnish, a shirt, a skirt, and a sash (got to have a sash!), but would trade them all for these amazing vintage dishes of my mom's.
When I saw them in my parents kitchen I freaked out a bit over their perfect combination of cream, black, & red, and their feminine yet restrained style. If only there was a dress to match. Of course my mom offered the dishes to me on the spot, but I think they belong where they are. And yes, that is the mixer she uses- she's on the hunt for the original bowl, but in the meantime this floral bowl is doing the job beautifully.
Some other tomato-red favorites:
- Someday, someday, this "Angel of the North" lithograph by Sanna Annukka will preside over my home!
- I fell pretty hard for this delightful screenprinted tea towel featuring classic British cakes.
- During the rainy season here in San Francisco, this indoor/outdoor bench would be the perfect spot to put on boots and generally get yourself together.
- Ah, the lovely Hungarian Doll Project, painstakingly screen printed, stitched, and embroidered by Sarajo Friedan, one of Reform School's students-of-the-month.
