In Goren's space (Image 1), colorful art by friends, fellow artists, and herself stand out nicely. The same goes for the amazing giant pom poms in Confetti System's studio (Image 3) and the multi-hued supplies and finished works in Rachel Castle's workspace (Image 5).

White Enamel Flatwa...
I painted my workspace a deep purple/grey and love it. Thought about going white, but after living with white walls for 10 years in rentals I really discovered that jewel tones are what does it for me in a room. I wanted an actual mood to be in there, and I got it! Plus my artwork is mostly black and white, and it pops like nothing else against that color.
We just finished my studio and opted for white walls (and a punchy colored ceiling), too! I love the freedom it gives me to let the work shine, not to mention, photographing my art with the white walls as a background really keeps things looking fresh and light.

I'm in the midst of painting my live/work loft and went with white for the main space. ceiling is wood and the floors I've painted a gloss black. it was agony making the decision because i had the judgement that white is soooo boring in my head, but as it turned out white was the right choice for the design problem that i am solving.

I went for "mostly" white in my work-space with a yellow and white striped wall (the signature print for my business) I like the white because the messes I make while creating seem not to look so messy in a clean white space.
