When I saw this Hudson Bay Blanket headboard, I just had to find more bedrooms that used blankets at the head of the bed instead of for covering up:
Whether they're heavy and warm like the wool Hudson Bay headboard pictured first or light and airy like the turquoise one draped over the frame in image four, blankets are a terrific way to create a headboard in minutes.

Shaw's Original Fir...
I like the first one because it actually looks like a headboard. The others kind of look like you're just trying to hide something.
I love the second one--it's soft and feminine and elegant! The 4th one has nice colors too.
I like the first one because it actually uses a blanket as the fabric to upholster a headboard...
...and the last one because it drapes the blanket over an upholstered headboard - similar to how I have an Argentinian woven wool rug draped over my upholstered headboard.
love this idea!
I hardly ever think something is weird but I think this is Weird.
I love all of them, especially the first one!
I like the blanket in the first one! Where can I get it!!!!
This is it! This is the solution to my threefold problem:
1) I want an upholstered headboard but can't afford one;
b) all the beds in my price range have headboards uglier than sin on a stick; and
iii) forgive me for mentioning the distasteful, but an upholstered headboard seems like a very iffy bet given the recent widespread problems with bedbugs.
An inexpensive comforter that I can remove and wash anytime, draped over a Headboard From Aesthetic H-E-double-toothpicks = my perfect solution!
The Bay blanket headboard looks great but I'd rather get the look with a less expensive piece. If I'm buying a $500+ 6-point Bay blanket, it will be used to keep me warm!
Chinadoll I agree, I couldn't imagine stapling my Bay blanket to a board!
I have something similar on my headboard.....A big ikat scarf!

Also LOVE the idea using a rug as the headboard. Check out this link for a very cool DIY:
