Fans of Top Chef (and anyone who will admit to watching Hell's Kitchen) look forward each season to the blindfolded taste test challenge which tests each chef's palate as they attempt to identify both basic and off-beat foods. Why not gather up some kids for their very own taste test this summer?

What you'll need:

  • a few young competitors

  • blindfolds (bandannas or sleep masks will do the trick)

  • a variety of foods

  • a prize (unless you think they'll be satisfied with bragging rights)

If they're not your own kids, do an allergy check beforehand. Otherwise, use any food you have in the fridge or cabinets - cut up fruit, cheese cubes, raw veggies, etc. Depending on how many competitors you have you could test each kid separately with a few different foods or test everyone together. Whoever guesses the most foods correctly wins!
