There's nothing more decadent than a really great dark blue room mdash; we love the surprise and shock that dramatic dark bedrooms create because they are so unexpected. The flipside is, of course, the use of light ethereal blues that evoke sunny skies, which work equally well in the bedroom.

Shaw's Original Fir...
Totally agree that blue is peaceful. My bedroom at my parent's house was a blue similar to the first picture for 9 years (well, it's still blue, I just moved out years ago at 18) and it was lovely and calming the entire time.
Thanks for the blue velvet pic. I am enjoying eating my lunch at my desk and looking at Jon Hamm. Eye candy : )
Love the first one. Although I generally don't like blue, I have thought about painting our bedroom a nice Scandinavian kind of blue. So restful.
My bedroom is blue, and I couldn't image a more peaceful place for myself, in fact it looks quite similar to these pictures because I also did white bedding.
I love a deep blue bedroom, but save the pastels for the nursery please.
Your mdash is showing.
I think maybe if the first pic bed could go where the chair is, then you wouldn't have that slope pressing into you (energetically) when you're trying to get a peaceful night's rest. Plus you could look out the window from your bed...but the color is yummy. Thanks, AT!
I painted our bedroom a deep dark blue. As a night shift worker and a daytime sleeper, I think the room is wonderfully dark with drapes closed during the day. At other times the room looks bigger with all the velvety dark blue. It looks crisp with white on the trim and fluffy white bedding. Dark blue, love it. I chose VanDeusen Blue by Benjamore Moore.
I keep thinking about how many times I'd bash my head in picture one. Picture three is my favorite.
