Over at Unplggd they've been on top of the release of the iPad and all the bells and whistles, accessories and add ons that go with it. Although they look great, they're not always made from the best materials and we end up going without... but not any more. This wooden stand is as eco-friendly as it is attractive and has a small price point to boot!
Each Block22 stand is hand carved from a solid block of FSC-certified kiln-dried Ipe wood (a South American hardwood). The wood used is harvested according to the Forest Stewardship Council criteria, which ensures sustainable forest management and fairly compensated workers.
The groove (which is carved at exactly 22 degrees for perfect viewing) is specially designed to match the iPad’s curvature and allows you to use your iPad in any direction without covering up any buttons, ports or switches. The bottom is graced with 100% wool felt padding, and hand-stamped and polished aluminum accents adorn the piece. Our favorite part is the slight dip that's carved in the back of the piece. It's the perfect spot to hold headphones or even your wallet and keys.
Did we mention it's only $35? Because it is! You can pick yours up over at Sherwood+Meister (don't forget one for a friend for Christmas). We're glad to see a stand that finally meets our requirements for sustainability as well as functionality. The point where both those meet, there's always a great product waiting!
