We love brunch. It seems like nothing makes us happier than deciding to go out to brunch on a lazy Saturday or Sunday afternoon. Forget about boring breakfast or lethargic lunch- this is brunch, and it's the perfect way to get together with other families and friends.

Well, the weekend is upon us once again, and Blueprint Magazine's got a great make-ahead child friendly menu for your own backyard brunch complete with activities to keep the kids occupied.

For decor- think bright colors- like short fabric runners on the adult table, and bright chairs - they went with "Urban chairs" and "Lack side tables"- both from Ikea. Throw a big quilt down on the ground- theirs is from Utility Canvas.

They've got sophisticated, yet kid-friendly recipe ideas including a DIY yogurt and granola parfait bar, a ham and cheese strata, and a strawberry cake with layers of whipped cream. You can also set up a toaster station with different spreads, and serve a salad along with the strata.
