We got sidetracked. This month's Diablo magazine features an article about tech entrepreneur and Oakland resident Lisa Gansky's desire to build a prefab weekend home in Stinson Beach. To achieve something green and gorgeous, she enlisted the help of Oakland architect Michelle Kaufmann, who specializes in modern prefabricated homes.
Writer Tracey Taylor also interviews other prefab homeowners and manufacturers. What really caught our attention was the prefab abode in Napa that you can tour and even rent for your next vacation. Even though it wasn't the centerpiece of the story, we ended up spending quite a bit of time clicking through the Napa Prefab site reading up on the place and checking out the fabulous photos (like the one above).

According to the website:
For the first time on the West Coast, Rocio Romero's critically acclaimed modernist prefab LV Home Series is open to the public.
