A welcome new parenting mag. We've passed Kiwi in the bookstore since they launched late last summer, but we haven't bought an issue before, usually heading towards the glossier parenting magazines.
Well, we finally picked up a copy of Kiwi, and we're glad we did.
It's packed full of green tips and healthy ideas for raising kids and the overall tone stays true to the tagline, "growing families the natural and organic way."
There's a whole section starting on page 32 on ways to create a healthier home. Each hint explains issues of products found in the home, then outlines better alternatives along with online resources to check out.
An article on page 37 has a long list of green linens and blankets for your child. Our favorites include the Pebbles Crib Set, made of 100% organic cotton with recycled soda bottle filling in the quilts and bumpers, and the George collection, made of organic cotton with hand-stitched animals and available at Giggle.
A story on page 38 that highlighted green furnishings introduced us to some great new finds, including a kids' rocker from Iglooplay, pictured here.
The text is informative without being preachy, but we do wish the magazine had more images.
All in all, though, it's a good addition to the bookshelves.
