An excellent small space solution - get your collection off of the surfaces of your room (or out of storage!) and onto the walls. Implementing the display of a collection on a wall is shown off beautifully in multiple examples (plates, photos, everyday treasures, letters) from one of our favorite design publications, Living Etc.
A very high shelf shows off photos but leaves plenty of open wall space to keep things visually in balance.

Everyday treasures have pride of place in a complex, careful, old-fashioned gallery-style arrangement.

The scale of the arrangement on the wall and varied sizes and fonts are what makes this collection's arrangement successful.

How are those plates being held up there though? I can't tell from the picture but it looks like ribbon is involved?
Is this from the June issue?
KristinaXI the plates are held up with plate hangers. Here's an example of what they look like.

And the photo is from an old issue, sometime from last year, can't remember the exact issue. Actually I'd be pretty scared if I could remember the exact issue it was in!
