Design 100. The bulk of the May issue of Metropolitan Home is devoted to the annual Design 100 — an extensive list of products, ideas, and buildings that help define modern ideas of decor and living... While there are quite a few members of the list that we have already looked at on AT, (Small House Society, Penelope Phone, Greendimes, 9 watt LED bulbs) there are a few we felt worthy of attention that will be showing up this week... This issue's notable home tours include: • Dale Chihuly's live-work space in Seattle. Full of extensive collections, artfully displayed and integrated. We especially liked his library with books displayed front-forward like magazines. With the dust jackets removed the art and architecture books are colorful and graphically pleasing. • Kara Mann's Chicago penthouse. We must take this opportunity to vent our frustration with the magazine's online content. While the magazine arrives to subscribers weeks before any content appears online, we're not sure why anyone would visit the Metropolitan Home website. We've always loved the print version of Met Home but they are being left in the dust my more web-aggressive titles like Domino, Dwell and Metropolis. We're watching!
