Light and airy. In yesterday's Winter Home Design Magazine, Zahid Sardar featured homes in Healdsburg, Marin, and Menlo Park, all light and airy, with lots of windows.
• Into the Woods: A setting for the simple country life: We're not sure we'd call a 2,000-square-foot farmhouse "intimate" but we love the Victorian schoolhouse-meets-modernism style of this house on 40 acres of vineyards. Check out the simple pine plywood walls, the bookshelves, and all those windows -- the house is designed by SF architect Nick Noyes

• The Outdoor Life: Organic modernism that meshes with nature: LA architect Lorcan O'Herlihy (who's been featured in Dwell) designed a boomerang-plan home to follow the topography of the Tamalpais ridges

• Menlo Park Redux: Where recycling is second nature: SF architect William Duff designed this modernist and eco-friendly space for a Menlo Park couple and their three kids
