Blogging The New York Times: Theater of Trees

Want more greenery but don't have the green thumb to match? Perhaps video art can satisfy those conflicting requirements. Granted, the effect of a piece like "Eye Catching" above really relies on its surroundings, in this particular case large scale concrete walls adjacent to the property. As shown though, we really like the execution of the installation.

The animated tree not only 'floats' on the water, but introduces movement in the leaves as though wind is constantly blowing through.
