Nothing tickles us more than taking an off-the-shelf product and transforming it into something more. That's why we perked up when we saw this project from This Old House. The project, Build A Custom-Look Window Seat Using Stock Kitchen Cabinets, takes standard Woodmark cabinets as sold at Home Depot... ...and converts them into a semi-custom window seat. The cabinets used are the small ones that are typically wall-mounted above refrigerators. Their height is about 18", making them well-suited to this repurposing.
