We were flipping through Vancouver Magazine and stumbled across the
Kattbank bench. This streamlined bench is specifically designed to house a kitty litter box all without your guests seeing, or smelling it.
An opening on the side of the bench allows access to the litter box while a plastic grid removes and catches extra litter from the cat's paws. Finally, holes in the side, not visible from the outside, provide ventilation.
Not cheap though, it is available here starting at $1750.

I remember there's an AT post about the Kattbank during Pet Week. The general consensus was that it's cheaper to make your own (http://www.thisoldhouse.com/toh/knowhow/design/article/0,16417,1207059-3,00.html) or get Dave (a woodworker) to make one http://www.woodworksbydave.com/Litter%20Box%20Hiders.htm -- with the Kattbank, you're paying a lot extra for the style.
(Incidentally, trying to post this from Firefox gave me a 500 internal server error. I've never been able to log in properly from Firefox. Someone may need to take a look at the cookies situation.)
For some reason (and maybe it's just my cat) but unless this was outside (and then what's the point), I don't know how you would NOT smell the litterbox.
I made one! I made it while I was visiting my sister's house in another state, so I'm waiting for her to get around to shipping it to me so that I can assemble it and paint it. I'm very excited... She made one too, and from the photos she sent me it looks like it works very well in her house.
$2000! You've got to be kidding me! It's a great idea but one that could be executed for A LOT less than that.
Uh, so what's with the odor. If you can't smell it outside, then it must reak inside. Would a cat use such a smelly spot?
