We don't usually blog music mag VenusZine, but since this is Adornment Month at AT, we had to let you know about the current DIY issue with 15 paper projects. Our favorites include the Mod Paper Wall Decor (pg. 66, shown left) and the Mid-Century Mod Style Paper Lamp (pg. 70).

Venus' website is also in DIY-mode this month. Enter the online 3rd Annual Craft-Off Contest by September 20th and your DIY skills could be featured in the magazine.

More from the fall issue...

Paper Dolls (pg. 62): "Meet four paper mavens who create art one sheet at a time." Includes profiles of Nikki McClure, Laurie Coughlin, Amy Jo Hendrickson, and Amy Teh.

The Art of Making Paper (pg. 64): "Use your household trash to make fresh canvases." Provides step-by-step instructions for papermaking.

Kara Walker (pg. 18): Kelly Shindler reviews the first large-scale survey of Walker's subversive silhouettes, organized by the Walker Art Center and traveling through May 2008.

Diana Sudyka (pg. 20): An interview with the Chicago illustrator about making the jump to a full-time art career.

The Fall '07 issue of VenusZine is on stands now.
