We don't know about you, but we've always harboured the fantasy of living in one of those wonderful Downtown LA historical buildings loft conversions, both for the inherent beauty of those era of buildings and also for the raw space they provide. Well, until we realize we can't really afford it and is out of range for our bus ride commute from one end of LA to the other. But the dream simmers within, especially after peeking inside many of the lofts last weekend. In timely fashion, a new publication dedicated to loft living popped into our mailbox yesterday...

LoftLife is the newest decor and lifestyle publication which focuses on the in and outs of calling a converted industrial or mixed use space home. The first issue tackles topics such as carless commuting, utilizing large loft walls creatively, mobile furniture solutions (always good in a loft space), and inspirational loft interiors in Atlanta.

The first issue of LoftLife comes off as a little bit Dwell-ish meets Readymade (their use of models in the Live/Work feature has a similar aesthetic). But the visual tone of the magazine is darker and industrial, like many of the interiors they showcase. It's a solid first issue, especially when they focus on loft-specific topics instead of wandering into fashion or broad lifestyle. We'll be keeping an eye out on future issues and see how LoftLife shapes up in the competitive field of decor mags. A couple sample spreads below:
