021909_travis5.jpgTwo of our favorite LA-based artists recently gave a tour of their shared art studio/home located in the hills of Echo Park over at popular art site, Fecal Face. Talk about history--these cabins were once backdrops to Ernest Hemingway, Ayn Rand, the Hells Angels, Steely Dan, and Charles Bukowski. Mel and Travis' cabin is a great example of a free-wheeling creative environment, full of personality. A few more photos after the jump...

While Mel and Travis' home may not have any trendy furniture or any of the usual styles that are often featured on AT, I love that their home is pure reflection of who they are and their passion for their art. My only disappointment is that Travis shaved off the moustache he was growing a few years back (seriously, that thing had a life of its own).

The kitchen came from a...stage coach?

Living room area with a vintage fireplace. One of Travis' pieces hangs on the wall.

Their bulletin board holds their own drawings, photos, and notes.
