I think we can all agree that the day we heard that Domino was folding was a sad, sad day. Not only were they an incredible resource for beautiful and inspiring spaces, but they also focused on modern gardens in a way that no one else really was. One of the things I missed most was checking in with the Germinatrix, Ivette Soler, the resident plant expert and all around likeable and super knowledgable garden lady. Thank goodness she's launched her own blog by the same name:

Not only is Ivette truly committed to plants (plant names, plant porn and plant obsessions all included) but her modern style and LA aesthetic make her a source of constant inspiration for me. Take a look at her awesome front yard and some of her friend's gardens: lush Silver Lake and Echo Park homes that make me drool with jealousy. And who could overlook the fact that her house has a orange tiled wall to serve as a backdrop for her myriad plants and flowers. And when she isn't traveling the world for inspiration, she's helping to create gardens as a founding member of the Elysian Landscape's team.
