One of my favorite parts of hosting a dinner party is setting the table, so I'm always looking for a little tabletop inspiration. Jessica Graves, the Atlanta-based writer whose living room we featured Friday, also sent us these photos of her dining room, staged for an intimate dinner party.

I love the blue and white color scheme, and the way it harmonizes with the rest of the room. And these photos are a great reminder that dinnerware doesn't have to match - in fact, a little contrast makes things more interesting.

Mixing and matching your dinnerware also gives your the opportunity to pick up pieces at estate sales, thrift shops, garage sales — anywhere you find one or two pieces that catch your eye.

Jessica says that one of her favorite things about her home (which is almost 100 years old!) is the built-in shelves. She's styled them in the same blue and white as the tabletop — such a soothing color combination.

Says Jessica:

I’ve got a wonderful group of friends and neighbors here and we come together here often to cook, drink, hang and bust out Cards Against Humanity.

Sounds lovely — when can we stop by?

You can check out Jessica's work on her website, as well as on The Love List, a blog she writes about fashion and style. The photos you just saw are by Caroline Fontenot, and were styled by Ginny Branch.
