Blythe's Fresh, Fearless Nursery

My Room

Name: Blythe (2 weeks)
Location: Houston, TX

I wanted a bright, eclectic nursery with a lot of color, so (as to not over do it) that meant white walls, which was new for me!

My husband painted the walls, trim, ceiling, and closet a bright white. I didn't want carpet either, so we also laid down a dark hardwood floor. After having two boys I wanted all florals in all the colors I love! The first thing I bought was her crib sheet so I based a lot of colors off of it.

After we had the floors and the paint done my mom and sister came over and helped me DIY the gold dot wall. I cut my own dots out of vinyl and saved a ton of money! I also made the crib skirt, curtains, and her baby quilt. The bird mobile a DIY project that I did years ago for my first son's nursery, and its been in every baby's room since. The pink and white quilt is an heirloom that has been passed down from her great-great-grandmother! It was from a wedding quilting bee, and it's all hand done, including the embroidered 1921 date! I fell in love with the hot pink chair from World Market, and I used a ton of stuff I had for her gallery wall.

Thanks, Taylor! Readers, you can see more of Taylor at her blog, Taylor Made.
