Artist and furniture designer (and Re-nest reader) Trevor O'Neil just sent us links to images of this amazing wall-mounted jewelry cabinet. It is a custom piece made from various pieces of hard and soft scrap wood.

We're struck by how whimsical the piece is. It's a jewelry cabinet, but when we see it in motion, it reminds us of the antique cuckoo-clock our great aunt had in her kitchen.

We're not woodworkers by any stretch of the imagination, but we wonder if you could recreate something similar on your own with, as O'Neil suggests, a variety of mix-matched boxes?
