Vintage Welsh tapestries from the 50s, 60s, and 70s along with their contemporary counterparts, feel both charming and modern, bearing sophisticated color palettes in bright and neutral tones and deliciously complex geometric patterns.
Many traditional patterns continue to be produced and updated today by mills like Melin Tregwynt or have inspired designers such as Donna Wilson, whose Nos Da Blanket Collection (image 5) is particularly lust-worthy.

Those are some beautiful blankets!
If I hadn't just purchased a new Italian wool/cashmere blend blanket off Gilt.com - I'd be looking into one of these!
Lovely blankets. I'm infatuated with the one from fforest. The pattern is very like some traditional Swedish ones, and the colors are marevelous.
Goodness those are lovely. I don't like any with fringe though.
Wow...so gorgeous! I love hand loomed blankets. I saved this post for future reference....need to save my $$.
I've wanted the green Nos Da one by Donna Wilson for some time. There's two sizes & a cushion...
love these. something else to covet..
Thank you for including our coldatnight fforest blanket in maize in your wonderful welsh tapestry selection, we also have other beautiful colours!
Goodness, this brings back memories! We got several of these in Wales in the mid-1970s, and used them on all the beds for many years. Still have them packed away in a trunk. They're beautiful works of art.
