Over the years we've seen plenty of play kitchens made by creative parents. They're all adorable, but quite often, families in small homes are left without much inspiration.
IKEA Hackers recently highlighted this small space project by the bloggers at Pari Ovea (Finnish for A Couple of Doors). The bookshelf kitchen is a clever way for small home dwellers to give their children the play kitchen experience using minimum floorspace. The stove elements could be made simply with construction paper (though we suggest laminating it) and a few pieces of colored tape for trim.
This kitchen has seen many pots of soup made since it's construction and we think it's a great reminder that creativity and play doesn't comes in all sizes.

I feel like we see a new clever toy kitchen every day, and I love them! This one is especially genius.
Put a stove on it! I love it.
Finally a play kitchen I feel like I can tackle! I am so doing this in our Expedit this weekend, and I'm getting my daughter the little pots from Ikea! I've always wanted to get them for her but we have no kitchen and I wasn't sure how she'd play with them.
Thank you for this - made my day!
cute!
Very clever! And you can add a stove by adding one of Ikea's doors for the Expedit and painting over it.
Err, don't you mean 'creativity and play *comes* in all sizes'?
Anyway, it's cool. I'm making it for my nephews.
