We had a little birthday party at home recently, and towards the end whipped out the paper and pens for a game. The next day I couldn't find any of my pens - thanks to someone putting them all "away" in some mystery place and/or to those who accidentally stuck a pen in their pocket or bag. And some of those were my favorite pens! We've all been there, right?
I was reminded of all of this when I spotted this set called, "Borrow My Pen?"...
The pens' messages assume they will end up circulated in the hands of those you know - and possibly those you don't. Coined as a "subversive collection of immortal advertising keepsakes," meant to "teach those pen stealers a lesson," the messages are also meant to perplex and amuse.
Buy a Borrow my pen? set for $15 at Willow in Chicago.

So lame! And not even "Halloween Trick-related" as I thought these must be at first. Why was this posted? Anyway, I think the manufacturer could have come up with better text to embarrass the pen-holder (i.e., "Proud Supporter of Farters Anonymous" or "In thanks for your contribution to MANBLA").
Did you mean NAMBLA, heatherleaf? (heh)
LOL, yeah..
agreed, so lame! these belong in the same category as all that cheap novelty stuff you get a Spencer's gifts.. ick
i think they're kinda funny, and i definitely know people who would get a kick out of them.
Ditto KTG

I LOVE AT - but I feel like posts such as these are simply filler and they bum me out a lil...
I laughed.
A couple of these would actually *encourage* me to take the pen.
But I agree with K T G. This is ridiculous. AT is falling apart.
The wrong price was posted on our website www.shopwillow.net and has been fixed. The pens are $8!
Wish I could tell what they say -- maybe it's my monitor size or maybe it's my bad eyesight but I can barely read them.
As for "filler" posts -- this doesn't bother me. What bothers me are the many "best of" posts and the recaps which consist of posts we saw only days ago.
