Painted wood furniture is big these days, whether its a DIY makeover or store-bought, but aside from the yellow, 4 poster Ikea Hemnes bed there haven't been many painted wood beds to catch our eye ...
We're not usually Pottery Barn folks but we're always on the look out for interesting pieces that we can recommend to our more conservative friends and family. PB's Priscilla Bed - which is currently on sale for $899-$999 - is actually a platform bed but with a high headboard and lovely scalloped corner moldings which create an intimate, snug look. Its available in cherry red and a traditional New England blue. To our more modern tastes it reminded us of Blu Dot's Nook Bed.

There is also a daybed option which might make a nice sofa/guest bed. We think it would be lovely in an old New England home or, with some modern bedding, in just about any apartment.

LOVE it in red!
Interesting that the design eliminates the need for a box spring - but the PB catalog mavens show it with a box spring anyway...
Love the colorful bedding.
like a modern sleigh bed
on the PB site, the Priscilla daybed is listed as not available anymore.
You can still get this bed here http://www.knock-offwood.com/2010/05/furniture-plans-lydia-daybed.html
